Union-busting budget-cutting Supt. to be appointed in Katonah NY!

We have a terrible situation here in Katonah-Lewisboro, Westchester County, where Paul Kreutzer, a superintendent from New Berlin, Wisconsin, is about to be offered our  superintendent position in a back-room way by our school board and we have only until Tuesday evening to try to stop this.

Kreutzer has done so much to harm his previous district.  It would take pages to detail, but among other things, we were told by the New Berlin union president that high school electives are now at a maximum of 56 students now (and that the original proposal was 120 students). We heard that special education aides were terminated mid-year and self-contained classes ended, with highly impaired students put in grade level classes.

Most notoriously, Kreutzer stood with Gov. Walker, the only public school superintendent to do so, standing against collective bargaining, etc. Here is a video of the Walker news conference in which Kreutzer supported the elimination of the teacher contractual rights.

We are doing all we can. We thank Diane Ravitch for her tweet about this.  We hope you will spread the word and help us, too.

Here is our petition asking the board not to appoint Kruetzer.  Parents should also attend the demonstration Tues. April 25 at 6:30 PM at John Jay HS; or the School Board meeting Tuesday, April 26 at 7:30 PM.
